Ducks play around this little boat house everyday evening, don't miss taking a pic when you visit sankee tank the next time.
My simple everyday life in pictures! My friends call this my malgudi world :-). Isn't it fun to just "read" the pictures as opposed to "look"-ing at words? This is a blog I maintain with simple pictures captured on my Android phone. I click when I feel I have a long life to live and can afford to while away a bit of my time doing Malgudi-Phographing(TradeMark)

In Front of Circle Mariamma Temple
Click on the picture and read what is written in bold on top "Investment in Knowledge always pays the best interest". Not the dubious unscrutinized knowledge in these books of course!
An Auto Driver Calls me a Fool
I hit on a small talk with my autodriver and somehow our talks converged to education and career. He suggested me to write IAS and become an IAS officer. He says I can become rich in no time and that I can happily retire in 10 years. When I told him I can't be corrupted, he raised his hands and told me I was a fool and that I didn't know how to live :-) (nimige badhkakke gothilla). That is when I clicked this picture :-)
He told me that he would ensure that his children wouldn't talk righteousness like me, and that he would tell his kids that there is nothing wrong in taking bribery ;-)
All in all, had an interesting ride both in the auto and after getting out :-))))))
Coffee Day Lounge
Had been to coffee Day lounge and got to try a free french press coffee :-) They get you all the stuff and detail you with things so that you can prepare a cup of coffee for yourself. Coffee day is the best :-)

A talk by Dileep http://dileepgeorge.com/ . The talk was about how to reverse engineer the brain. He was humorous and made the talk short and sweet :-)

In DSCE
Talking to Prof. Ramesh Babu and Prof. Srinivas in Dayananda Sagar Computer Science Department. They have a new research lab dedicated to image processing research. The team is spearheaded by Prof. Ramesh Babu. It is great to see engineering colleges in Bangalore growing up in terms of research. I am sure, in the next coming years, this will be a center for excellence in Image processing.

The Book Stall Inside the temple
This bookstall is situated towards the right after entering the temple. Dad has bought a lot of cassettes and books from this place from the past 30 years. This is the place where he bought me a kannada book called "panchatantra". The first kannada story book that I read fully. It was nearly 400 pages. The fragrance of the shop has remained the same from the past 25 years (ever since I visited this place for the first time). I go all nostalgic when I visit this place.
Anjaneya
I used to chant "Anjaneyamathipatalaananam, kanchanaadhri kamaneeya vigraham" near this place every time I visited this temple. This is exactly behind the garbagudi of vontikoppal temple.
The Krishna Sannidi Inside the Temple
They smear butter on krishna and it is a joy to see this ambegaalu krishna... unfortunately the door is closed.
My Favourite Temple in Mysore
Venkateshwara devasthaana in gokulam. Me dad, mom and sister used to come here everytime we came close to this area. The temple has an amazing ambience. Don't miss visiting this, when you are in Mysore.
Prepared Egg Bhurji
For the first time I prepared egg bhurji, without knowing how to prepare it. Used my commonsense and there it was.... yummy and gummy :P
It was excellent! Either my taste buds are bad or I am a great cook :-))

A Talk in the IS Dept @PESIT #1
Delivered a talk "Combinatorial Thinking" at pesit (information science department). The crowd was very jovial and energetic. This was a situation when we had ten volunteers on the stage trying to disprove the fascinating Erdos/Szeker's piece of magic trick.
Forgot to take a snap of 10 participants on the stage :-(

Money pond
Money pond in Germany.
If you throw some cents/euros into this pond making a wish, it will come true in no time.
And and and I heard Germans were the most open minded in the entire world....
Sexual networks
There were no questions from the audience all these days... But when Dr. Nina spoke about the science of sexual networks there were atleast 30 to 40 questions from the participants... Sex and celebrities anyday sell well.... :P
Look at the German-English
Look at this German+english=Junglish :P
"Is the gayal a domestic animal
The question is difficult to answer since the gayal has many features of a domestic animal, but its not kept as such in its native country. Their way of life rather resemebles that of a semi-tame wild animal"
Very funny!!!!!
This was in the Heidelberg zoo :P
fire alarm
Fire alarm in our office got activated and everyone came out the way they would from a movie hall. This was in the middle of my class when I was teaching them networkx package. Everyone casually stood up and left the class with a smile... grrrr.... this is not the era of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casabianca_(poem)
This was pasted in the kitchen of our office
Zoo in Germany
Germans are great at raising funds... This is a food dispenser for the fishes and swans... Zoo personnels never feed the birds, they make the visitors feed them. Consequently, they make good money too. It costs 2Euros for cup of food.
